The Southern Local Company is a seasonal business focusing on selling local items with a southern charm. We will be kicking off our venture with Christmas trees this Winter ( all grown in NC). In spring of 2024 we will be offering local produce and other local items and treats. Please stay tuned for more information.
We are a family owned business that has farming and retail in our blood. Our ancestors have farmed and operated general/country stores right here within the Meadow community. Within a mile of our location we can trace at least five generations of our family living and farming on the same land. We hope to honor them and continue the tradition.
Our location is based in an old four room school house. There is very little information on it but the information that is known has been passed down by word of mouth. It is believed to have been built in the early seventeenth century. It is roughly 2,500 square feet not counting the porch and shelter built on it. It boost two fire places, multiple entrances, its original cupola and lots of charm.
